Tom Fletcher, the UN undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs, has warned during a visit to Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, that the US-Israel war on Iran is already hitting the country hard.

“I’ve been in Somalia for almost a week now, and I’m hearing every day, every hour, the impact of this crisis,” Fletcher told Al Jazeera.

“Remember that Somalia was already facing enormous needs … and now with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, you have a doubling of food prices, a doubling of fuel prices,” Fletcher added.

“The result, I’m afraid, is that the danger of famine is looming once again in this region. You’ve got half a million kids in severe acute malnutrition. You got a doubling in hunger past six months. So, we need the world to wake up to the crisis here.”

Russia has one. China has one. For years, America didn't — and the world noticed. But according to Bloomberg, that gap is about to close. CENTCOM has formally requested the deployment of America's first-ever operational hypersonic missile to the Middle East. The target in mind? Iran.

The weapon's name is Dark Eagle. And if it goes — nothing in Iran's arsenal can stop it. The Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon — officially the LRHW, nicknamed Dark Eagle — is a ground-launched boost-glide system. Here's what that means in plain English.
A rocket booster fires it into the upper atmosphere. Then a glide vehicle — the Common Hypersonic Glide Body — detaches and essentially surfs the edge of space at over Mach 5. That's more than five times the speed of sound. At that velocity, it can travel roughly 1,700 miles — close to 2,800 kilometres — and it maneuvers as it goes, making its flight path almost impossible to predict.
There is no surface-to-air missile system on Earth that can reliably intercept something moving that fast, that unpredictably, at that altitude. That's the entire point.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a defiant written statement on 'National Persian Gulf Day,' declaring that the future of the region will be "without America" and that the United States has no place in the Gulf except "at the bottom of its waters." He said a "new chapter" is taking shape for the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran controlling its management. Khamenei also vowed that 90 million Iranians would use all capabilities — including nuclear and missile powers — to defend the country. Auf der B327 kommt es zu einem schweren Verkehrsunfall mit drei beteiligten Fahrzeugen – zwei Pkw und einem Linienbus. Eine Autofahrerin stirbt noch an der Unfallstelle, sechs Menschen werden verletzt. Im Bus befinden sich auch Schüler unter den Fahrgästen. Die Polizei hat Ermittlungen zur Unfallursache aufgenommen.
