Mali has imposed a 72-hour curfew in the capital, Bamako, after a wave of coordinated attacks on military targets across the country.

Fighting has been reported in several مناطق, including Kati—home to the country’s military leadership. Armed groups linked to Al-Qaeda and Tuareg fighters launched near-simultaneous assaults, signaling a dangerous escalation.

In Sevare, gunfire erupted near a base used by Russian-backed Africa Corps forces. Meanwhile, in the north, fighters claimed control in Gao and Kidal.

Some of these fighters are linked to Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin, an Al-Qaeda-affiliated group. What’s striking is that Tuareg rebels and jihadist fighters—often rivals—now appear to be working together against Mali’s army.

Despite government claims that the situation is under control, fear is growing. Reports suggest civilians are taking security into their own hands, raising concerns about further violence.

Mali’s military, already stretched thin, faces threats from multiple armed groups, including affiliates of Islamic State.

“I think Pakistan is terrific, I think the field marshal is fantastic, and I think the prime minister is outstanding. And you know they’d like to see something happen, but we’re not going to be traveling for 15 or 16 hours to have a meeting with people nobody has heard of before,” Trump told reporters before boarding Air Force One in Florida.

United States has imposed sweeping sanctions on China’s Hengli Refinery, accusing it of purchasing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Iranian crude oil and indirectly financing Iran’s military operations.

In a major escalation, Washington has also targeted nearly 40 ships and companies linked to Iran’s “shadow fleet,” a covert oil transport network used to bypass international sanctions.

US officials say the crackdown is aimed at cutting off Tehran’s key revenue streams, while increasing pressure on global intermediaries involved in oil trade. At the same time, the US Navy has intensified operations near Iranian ports, adding military pressure alongside economic restrictions.

China has strongly rejected the move, calling it political interference and an abuse of economic power, warning that sanctions against its refiners are destabilizing global energy markets.

With Iran heavily dependent on oil exports and China remaining one of its biggest buyers, the confrontation is raising fears of a widening economic and geopolitical clash with global consequences.

OSTSEE: Timmy-Rettung wird Rennen gegen die Zeit

Wismar (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) – Am Samstag ist der Wasserstand in der Bucht vor der Insel Poel sehr niedrig – und könnte sogar noch weiter zurückgehen. Möglicherweise erschwert das die für heute geplanten weiteren Schritte bei der Rettung des Buckelwals. Inzwischen wurden auch die Big Bags zu Timmy gebracht. Sie sollen eine Barriere bilden, die verhindert, dass der Wal weiter ins flache Wasser rutscht. Zudem sollen noch offene Fragen der Behörden geklärt werden, nachdem diese dem Rettungskonzept der privaten Hilfsinitiative am Freitagabend zunächst nicht zustimmten.

Es ist Tag 26 für den gestrandeten Wal in der Wismarer Bucht vor der Ostsee-Insel Poel. BILD-Reporter sind an der Ostsee und berichten von den Rettungsarbeiten.
