Es ist eine gute und eine schlechte Nachricht zugleich: Am Sonntagmittag soll das Wasser in der Wismarer Bucht um 50 Zentimeter steigen. Gut für den Transport von Timmy durch die Rinne zur Schute. Schlecht, weil der Wal sich auch von selbst freischwimmen könnte. Chef-Taucher Fred Babbel: „Wir haben jetzt die Big Bags (Riesensandsäcke, d. Red.). Die werden von Freiwilligen auf dem Parkplatz mit einem kleinen Bagger mit Sand befüllt. Die nutzen wir, damit uns am Sonntag der Wal nicht entfleucht. Quasi als Barriere.“ Timmy könnte sonst erneut in flachen Gewässern stranden und die Bergung wieder um Tage verzögern.

Iran-linked proxy attack targeted Kuwait’s northern border. Two explosive drones crossed from Iraq and struck Kuwaiti border posts, causing material damage but no casualties.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense called the strike a “criminal act of aggression” and launched an immediate investigation. Officials revealed the drones were fiber-optic guided—making them highly precise and difficult to intercept.

No group has claimed responsibility yet, but similar cross-border attacks have often been linked to Iran-backed militias operating in Iraq. The incident comes amid growing regional tensions, with increased U.S. military presence and repeated drone and missile attacks across Gulf nations.
