As tensions in the Strait of Hormuz escalate following the IRGC’s seizure of two vessels and the release of footage showing Iranian forces boarding the ships, an Al Jazeera discussion panel examined Iran’s strategy and the prospects for diplomacy.
Ali Akbar Dareini, researcher at the Centre for Strategic Studies in Tehran, told Al Jazeera Iran’s leadership is “unified”, dismissing suggestions of internal divisions as a “miscalculation”.

Andrea Dessi, assistant professor in international relations and global politics at the American University of Rome, told Al Jazeera Iran holds significant leverage over the Strait.
He said both US and Iranian blockades violate international law and warned prolonged disruption would worsen the impact on the global economy.
Dessi also highlighted a “deep” lack of trust between the two sides and criticised inconsistent US messaging, urging diplomacy to take place “behind closed doors, not on social media”.

Berlin – Eklat um Reza Pahlavi (65)! Der Schah-Sohn ist am Donnerstag vor der Bundespressekonferenz in Berlin plötzlich mit einer tomatenroten Flüssigkeit attackiert worden. Der 65-Jährige hatte gerade eine Pressekonferenz verlassen, als es vor dem Gebäude zum Angriff kam. Die soßenartige Substanz traf Pahlavi sichtbar an Schulter und Hals.

Zunächst war von einem Tomatenwurf die Rede, später korrigierten die Beamten ihre Angaben und sprachen nur noch von „roter Flüssigkeit“. Aus Pahlavis Umfeld heißt es dagegen, es sei Tomatensoße gespritzt worden! Der 65-Jährige wurde am Hals und an der Schulter getroffen, blieb aber gelassen – und winkte anschließend sogar noch seinen Unterstützern zu, bevor er ins Auto stieg und davonfuhr.

Der Täter wurde zu Boden gebracht und von der Polizei festgenommen. Ein Polizeisprecher sagte, dass der Mann nun zu seiner Identität und seinem Motiv befragt werde.

Alles deutet darauf hin: Hier bahnt sich mehr als nur ein Flirt an. Eines ist jedenfalls unübersehbar: Sie fährt echt auf ihn ab!

In Malibu (eine halbe Stunde von Los Angeles entfernt) liegen die Höchsttemperaturen aktuell bei 20 Grad, die Wassertemperatur im Pazifik beträgt nur 17 Grad. Dafür ging es im Wasser umso heißer her: Die amerikanische Unternehmerin („Skims“) schlang die Arme um den britischen Rennfahrer, sie küssten sich leidenschaftlich, inmitten von Wellen.

Am Strand legte Lewis Hamilton mehrfach Hand an – natürlich auf den berühmten Po von Kim Kardashian, gefolgt von einer Umarmung. Dann ging es mit großen weißen Boards und Stechpaddeln erneut ins Wasser.

Only Congress can declare war—last formally used in 1942—yet presidents acting as commander in chief under Article 2 have initiated conflicts citing rapid defence needs; the 1973 War Powers Resolution mandates notification within 48 hours and a 60‑day limit, extendable by 30, giving President Donald Trump until 1 May before Congress must act.
