Am Mittwochmorgen wurde eine Ölraffinerie im russischen Perm von einer ukrainischen Drohne getroffen. Die Mitarbeiter wurden evakuiert.

Es gab keine Verletzten, wie der Gouverneur des Gebiets Perm mitteilte. In der Region gilt weiterhin Alarmzustand wegen "Drohnengefahr".

Die Anlage ist eine der größten Ölraffinerien Russlands und wird von der "Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez" betrieben.

Ökologische Folgen sind bereits sichtbar: Einwohner berichten, dass sich der Himmel über Perm verdunkelt hat und schwarzer Regen gefallen ist.

Tom Fletcher, the UN undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs, has warned during a visit to Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, that the US-Israel war on Iran is already hitting the country hard.

“I’ve been in Somalia for almost a week now, and I’m hearing every day, every hour, the impact of this crisis,” Fletcher told Al Jazeera.

“Remember that Somalia was already facing enormous needs … and now with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, you have a doubling of food prices, a doubling of fuel prices,” Fletcher added.

“The result, I’m afraid, is that the danger of famine is looming once again in this region. You’ve got half a million kids in severe acute malnutrition. You got a doubling in hunger past six months. So, we need the world to wake up to the crisis here.”

Der stellvertretende Vorsitzende des russischen Sicherheitsrates, Dmitri Medwedew, sprach am Donnerstag, dem 30. April, vor Jugendlichen im Rahmen des Bildungsmarathons "Wissen. Die Ersten". Er ging dabei vor allem auf die Außenpolitik der Russischen Föderation und den Ukraine-Konflikt ein und beantwortete zudem die Frage, wohin die aktuelle Weltlage führen werde.

Im Zusammenhang mit der Konfrontation zwischen Russland und Europa betonte Medwedew, dass dieser Konflikt existenziellen Charakter habe und kaum im Laufe einer Generation verschwinden werde. Er erinnerte daran, dass die meisten europäischen Staats- und Regierungschefs heute die Unvermeidbarkeit eines militärischen Konflikts einräumen und ihre Bürger dazu aufrufen, einer Aggression entgegenzutreten. "Verstehen Sie, wohin dieser Weg führt? So traurig das auch klingen mag: Wenn man jeden Tag sagt, dass ein Krieg unvermeidlich ist, dann wird er auch ausbrechen – Anlässe und Gründe dafür gibt es mehr als genug", erklärte Medwedew.

Außerdem räumte er ein, dass eine nukleare Apokalypse möglich sei, was nur "Träumer oder Dummköpfe" nicht verstehen würden. Der Politiker erinnerte daran, dass man ihm oft eine harte Rhetorik vorwirft, wenn er über die Gefahr einer nuklearen Apokalypse spricht. "Aber leider ist das tatsächlich möglich", auch wenn er selbst dies nicht wolle, sagte Medwedew.

In den östlichen Niederlanden ist auf dem militärischen Übungsgelände "Artillerie Schietkamp" bei ’t Harde am Mittwoch ein größerer Brand ausgebrochen.

Das Feuer entstand vermutlich während einer militärischen Übung und breitete sich aufgrund der anhaltenden Trockenheit schnell aus. Die Flammen erstreckten sich über eine Länge von mehr als zwei Kilometern. Eine starke Rauchentwicklung war in weiten Teilen des Landes sichtbar.

Die genaue Ursache wird derzeit noch untersucht. Die Löscharbeiten werden durch die Gefahr von Munitionsdetonationen auf dem Gelände erschwert.

Gleichzeitig setzt sie sich für den Schutz der Ozeane ein und unterstützt Projekte zur Rettung von Korallenriffen. Besonders faszinierend: Die Farbwirkung ihrer Bilder verändert sich erst im Tageslicht vollständig.

Fünf Sechstklässler haben im US-Bundesstaat Mississippi ein schweres Unglück mit ihrem Schulbus verhindert. Nachdem die Fahrerin Leah Taylor am Steuer das Bewusstsein verloren hatte, übernahmen die Schüler die Kontrolle über das Fahrzeug und bewahrten somit alle 40 Insassen vor einem Unfall.

Der zwölfjährige Jackson Casnave bemerkte sofort, dass der Bus von der Spur abkam, und griff nach dem Lenkrad. Währenddessen versuchten andere, die Frau wachzurütteln.

Als die Fahrerin erneut das Bewusstsein verlor, stoppte ein weiterer Mitschüler den Wagen sicher am Straßenrand. Als der Bus stand, leisteten drei Schülerinnen Erste Hilfe: Sie setzten den Notruf ab, gaben der Frau ihr Asthmaspray und betreuten sie, bis die Rettungskräfte eintrafen.

In der Nacht zum Donnerstag hat die israelische Marine unweit der Insel Kreta eine internationale Gaza-Hilfsflotte namens "Global Sumud Flotilla" auf dem Weg zum Gazastreifen gestoppt. Erst wurden die Boote und Schiffe von Drohnen verfolgt, während die Kommunikationssysteme an Bord gestört wurden. Israelische Marinesoldaten haben daraufhin die Boote geentert, wie Aufnahmen von Donnerstagnacht zeigen.

Dabei sollen die Israelis Triebwerke und Technik an Bord der Boote vorsätzlich beschädigt haben. Das Handeln Israels wurde von einigen Politikern und Aktivisten verurteilt. So auch von der UN-Sonderberichterstatterin für Palästina, Francesca Albanese, oder vom Ex-Finanzminister Griechenlands, Yanis Varoufakis.

Ungefähr 175 Aktivisten von mehr als 20 Booten wurden von der israelischen Marine festgenommen und nach Israel gebracht. Sprecher der "Global Sumud Flotilla" prangerten diesen "gewaltsamen Einsatz in internationalen Gewässern" stark an, immerhin fand dieser 1000 Kilometer Luftlinie von Israel statt. Des Weiteren hieß es, dass einige Zivilisten nach dem Einsatz der Israelis auf beschädigten, antriebslosen Schiffen zurückgelassen worden sind.

Israel beruft sich bei seinen Beweggründen dagegen auf die vermeintlich ausreichend kommunizierte aber letztendlich völkerrechtswidrige Seeblockade des Gazastreifens. Die "Global Sumud Flotilla" ist mit einer Flotte aus mehreren Dutzend zivilen Booten und Schiffen, darunter Segelboote, unterwegs.

According to multiple reports, one of Russia’s major refineries, the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez facility, was hit during the attack, triggering large fires and significant damage to critical processing and storage units.

The strikes are said to be part of Ukraine’s ongoing campaign against Russian energy infrastructure, aimed at disrupting fuel production and supply chains far from the frontline. Satellite imagery and open-source assessments suggest multiple oil storage tanks and refinery components were affected, with thick smoke and fire visible across the site.

Russian authorities confirmed industrial facilities were targeted and fires broke out, while emergency services responded to contain the damage. The full extent of destruction is still being assessed as investigations continue.

Aslani warned military escalation is now as likely as a diplomatic breakthrough, amid increased US military posture.
Mohamad ElMasri, Professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, said neither side wants war or a prolonged stalemate, raising the risk of renewed conflict.
He added Israel is pushing for escalation, seeking regime change or weakening Iran and lobbying the US to return to war.
Both said any future conflict would differ from previous wars, with wider regional and energy implications.

The weapon's name is Dark Eagle. And if it goes — nothing in Iran's arsenal can stop it. The Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon — officially the LRHW, nicknamed Dark Eagle — is a ground-launched boost-glide system. Here's what that means in plain English.
A rocket booster fires it into the upper atmosphere. Then a glide vehicle — the Common Hypersonic Glide Body — detaches and essentially surfs the edge of space at over Mach 5. That's more than five times the speed of sound. At that velocity, it can travel roughly 1,700 miles — close to 2,800 kilometres — and it maneuvers as it goes, making its flight path almost impossible to predict.
There is no surface-to-air missile system on Earth that can reliably intercept something moving that fast, that unpredictably, at that altitude. That's the entire point.

Bei einem Messerangriff in einem jüdisch geprägten Viertel im Norden Londons sind am Mittwoch zwei Männer verletzt worden.

Die beiden Opfer, zwei jüdische Männer im Alter von 34 und 76 Jahren, erlitten Stichverletzungen und wurden umgehend in ein Krankenhaus gebracht. Nach offiziellen Angaben schweben sie nicht in Lebensgefahr.

Ein 45-jähriger britischer Staatsbürger somalischer Herkunft wurde kurz darauf festgenommen. Als die Polizei eintraf, griff er auch die Beamten an und konnte erst mit einem Elektroschocker überwältigt werden.

Die britischen Behörden stufen die Tat als terroristischen Vorfall mit antisemitischem Motiv ein. Demnach soll der Angreifer gezielt auf jüdische Passanten losgegangen sein.

Der britische Premierminister Keir Starmer verurteilte die Attacke als "zutiefst entsetzlich". Die proiranische Organisation Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI) hat sich inzwischen zu der Tat bekannt. Die Behörden prüfen derzeit die Echtheit der Stellungnahme.

Rostock (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) – Ihren kleinen Fabian bekommt sie nie zurück. Der Achtjährige wurde im Oktober grausam ermordet, seine Leiche angezündet. Einer Mutter bleibt nur die Hoffnung, dass dieses Verbrechen aufgeklärt wird. Heute steht sie am Landgericht Rostock selbst im Zeugenstand, an ihrer Seite hat sie einen Notfallseelsorger. Auch Fabians Vater soll später aussagen.

Fabian verschwand im Oktober 2025 aus Güstrow (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) und wurde vier Tage später tot aufgefunden – erstochen und verbrannt. Angeklagt ist Gina H. (30), die Ex-Freundin seines Vaters. Die Staatsanwaltschaft ist überzeugt, dass sie, nachdem der Vater mit ihr Schluss machte, das Kind aus Eifersucht tötete, um die Beziehung zu retten. Am ersten Prozesstag verlas die Anklage die Vorwürfe. Heute stehen erstmals die Aussagen der Eltern im Mittelpunkt.

IAEA chief says Iran’s uranium stockpile may still be under rubble

The head of the UN's nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, says much of Iran's uranium stockpile is likely still buried beneath the rubble of a facility bombed by the United States last year.
Speaking at the UN's Nuclear Non-Proliferation Conference, Grossi told Al Jazeera that until IAEA inspectors can verify the site, "we cannot confirm that this is the situation."
He added that the material is "close to weapon grade" and that there is "difficulty in accessing" the area. Iran's ambassador to the UN accused the United States of using the conference to distract from its own treaty violations. With ongoing war on Iran and global tensions, expectations for any international agreement from the conference remain low.
